Plwyf/Parish of Llandeilo Fawr, Maesteilo and Taliaris
St Teilo's church stands on a site where there has been Christian worship for nearly fifteen centuries, dating back to the mission of St Teilo in the sixth century. Our roots therefore go deep in Celtic Christianity and the Age of the Saints. We believe that as the church in this generation we are called to the tasks of spiritual renewal among God's people, and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ in Llandeilo and the Tywi valley. We dedicate ourselves to the Gospel, to fellowship, prayer, worship and witness, and to the service of others.
Saif Eglwys Sant Teilo yn yr union fan lle bu addoli Cristnogol am bron bymtheng canrif - a hynny'n dyddio 'nol i genhadaeth Sant Teilo yn y chewched ganrif. Mae ein gwreiddiau felly yn ddwfn yn Oes y Saint a'r Gristnogaeth Geltaidd. Fel yr Eglwys yn yr oes bresennol, credwn ein bod wedi cael ein galw i sicrhau adnewyddiad ysbrydol ymhlith pobl Dduw - gan gyhoeddi'r Newyddion Da am Iesu Grist yn Llandeilo a Dyffryn Tywi. Cyflwynwn ein bywyd i'r Efengyl, i gymdeithasu, i weddio, addloi a thystio, ac i wasanaethu eraill.

Bishop Wyn wants to have visited every church in the Diocese before he retires later this year and will be visiting our grouped parishes on Tuesday May 17. The exact details of his program during the day have still to be finalised but will include a buffet lunch in St Teilo’s upstairs hall and opportunities as he visits our three churches to ask any questions we may have about the future of our churches and diocese. After lunch, having spent the morning in Llandeilo, it is hoped that he will visit Holy Trinity, Taliaris, and St John’s, Maesteilo, and further details about this will be announced in due course.

The East Carmarthenshire Christians Against Poverty (CAP) Debt Centre
is now in the process of coming into being, with the aim of serving the SA18 and SA19 postcode areas. The Partnership Churches are St Teilo’s, Llandeilo; Ammanford Evangelical Church; Elim Community Church, Ammanford; and the Talley Group of Parishes, though we hope that other churches and chapels will want to support the Centre, too, as news about it spreads.
Ian Tame, the Debt Centre Manager, is asking for volunteers from the Partnership Churches to help with all aspects of getting the Debt Centre up and running effectively. If you would like to find out more about how you might be able to help, please place your contact details on the sheet at the back of St Teilo’s and Ian will get in touch with you.
