Welcome to our web site
St Teilo's church stands on a site where there has been Christian worship for nearly fifteen centuries, dating back to the mission of St Teilo in the sixth century. Our roots therefore go deep in Celtic Christianity and the Age of the Saints. We believe that as the church in this generation we are called to the tasks of spiritual renewal among God’s people, and proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ in Llandeilo and the Tywi valley. We dedicate ourselves to the Gospel, to fellowship, prayer, worship and witness, and to the service of others Saif Eglwys Sant Teilo yn yr union fan lle bu addoli Cristnogol am bron bymtheng canrif - a hynny'n dyddio 'nol i genhadaeth Sant Teilo yn y chewched ganrif. Mae ein gwreiddiau felly yn ddwfn yn Oes y Saint a'r Gristnogaeth Geltaidd. Fel yr Eglwys yn yr oes bresennol, credwn ein bod wedi cael ein galw i sicrhau adnewyddiad ysbrydol ymhlith pobl Dduw - gan gyhoeddi'r Newyddion Da am Iesu Grist yn Llandeilo a Dyffryn Tywi. Cyflwynwn ein bywyd i'r Efengyl, i gymdeithasu, i weddio, addloi a thystio, ac i wasanaethu eraill. ![]() Latest News New Vicar The Revd Michael Stuart Sadler, Vicar of Llanddewi Rhydderch with Llangattock-juxta-Usk in the Diocese of Monmouth, has accepted the nomination to be Vicar of Llandeilo Fawr and Taliaris. St Teilo’s: Building Project of the Year 2008
The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors has made a prestigious award to St Teilo’s Church. At the RICS Wales Award Ceremony in the Millennium Centre, Cardiff Bay on Friday 16th May 2008, the re-ordered interior of the church was named Building Project of the Year. In making the award, the judges commented: ‘St Teilo’s demonstrates how a vision can be brought to fruition through the support, commitment and endeavour of the local community. The project delivers exceptional value for money and provides a facility which allows the local community and visitors to engage positively with the building. All in all it is an exceptional project which is the epitome of what the Welsh Project of the Year represents.’ More information on the building project and the award

The Llandeilo Gospels Exhibition
By means of sophisticated digital technology, the Llandeilo Gospel Book can be seen again in Llandeilo, where it spent such a significant part of its early history. The Gospels Exhibition was officially opened by the Bishop of St David’s, Rt Rev Carl Cooper, and the Chairman of Carmarthenshire County Council, Cllr Jim Jones, on Friday 24th February 2006. The highlight of the occasion was a lecture by Professor Michelle Brown on the art and history of the Gospel book.
On the following day, Saturday 25th February, a ceremony was held in Lichfield Cathedral to inaugurate a similar display of the book. The Exhibition has been made possible by a grant of £74,528 of European Objective One funding from the 1FUND administered by Carmarthenshire County Council for the Welsh Assembly Government. The successful grant application was made with the assistance of Menter Bro Dinefwr. An exhibition space, designed by the Regan Norris Partnership, has been created under the Medieval tower of Llandeilo Parish Church, to which visitors are welcome at the times stated below.
